Going Green – Card Making

Morning, morning

We have had the most fabulous 3 weeks with my Cousin Stef.  She is touring Europe this year and stopped off here for a bit of a break.  It has done us both good really.  Just the push we needed to get off our bums and do something.  We have visited and revisited some of the towns and villages surrounding us.  Some we haven’t been to for 15-16 years.  Slightly disappointed that some of the more popular villages have now been modernised.  They still look lovely but…I don’t know….lost their charm a little if that makes sense.

Anyway back to crafting.

Today I would like to share two #cards I have made.

FloLangleyAugBts 012Stamps used Chocolate Baroque – Thistle Butterfly and (sentiment) Mackintosh Sentiments.

Full details on how I made both of these cards can be seen HERE.

FloLangleyWinterScene058A1Stamps used Chocolate Baroque Turtle Doves Stamp Set.  This set is fab actually.  Not necessarily just for Christmas. So very versatile.  There are some lovely little birds in the set that would be a great addition to a stamp collection. There are many uses for those and also in the set, is an ornate Christmas tree which could be used for background patterns, boarders, leaves or foliage.  Nice size too.

The backing papers I used on this card are some I made.  The one with the text on was made just by scanning a section of an old Conveyance into the computer and then just altering it using Photoshop. The second piece of backing paper was made in the same way but for this one I  scanned a piece of hessian.

Before I leave you today I just want to remind everyone that the Chocolate Baroque Color Challenge is still open.  If you love joining in challenges then why not give it a go.  If you are new to challenges, this would be a great one to start you off.  Although it is Chocolate Baroque’s challenge you do need to use their stamps to join in. Please click HERE for all the info about the challenge and how you can join in.

Thank you for looking.

Happy Stamping

  4. Those BG look great on both cards! While I’m not so in the Christmasmood (still enjoying summer!) I think my favorite is the first; such great colours! Enjoy Summer, Gerrina

    1. Hi Gerrina. Yep, hard to think of Christmas at the moment especially as it sooooo hot!! Those stamps however, are such a delight to craft with. Not too much of a hardship 🙂 Thank you for calling in and for your lovely comments.
      Hugs, Flo xx

  5. Two gorgeous cards Flo. Love these images and the colors you’ve used are so beautiful. Loll xx

  6. These are both amazing, Flo … such rich colours and so striking … love that CRM font! Know what you mean about villages changing … it’s happening here too … give me local character and genuine ambience over europeanisation every time! Anita 🙂

    1. Hi Anita, I thought of you when I wrote this post. I did wonder if you were experiencing the same thing. I suppose its progress!!! Than you so much for our lovely comments. Always great to hear from you.
      Hugs, Flo xx
P.S. Hope your electrics are all sorted now.

      1. Thanks, Flo … yes, electrics sorted, TV and satellite not yet (France has shut down for the hols!) … hoping for something over the next few days. Have a wonderful week! Hugs, Anita 🙂

  7. Love the colours, and that Turtle Dove stamp set is high on my wish list too. I like how it also matches the origin of Christmas – being a feast about the longest night having passed and wishing for good crops/new life. Something along those lines. I like how the tree pops out from the card because of the “highlight” behind it!
