Madonna and Child – Christmas Card

Hi everyone

Yey! it’s Friday. I am really looking forward to the weekend.  Not sure why as the “jobs to do list” is getting longer. What about you!  Anyone got anything nice planned for this weekend?

Today I would like to share one of many Christmas Cards I have made using the new Chocolate Baroque “A Child Is Born” rubber stamp sets.  Ooo! This is a fabulous set this one.   I have totally fallen in love with the Madonna and Child stamp in the set.  It would be perfect for other occasions and not just for Christmas.

FloLangleyCBDTSeptCC076CFirstly, I stamped a piece of white card using a crackle background rubber stamp.  I then stamped the beautiful Madonna and Child image, colored it using some water colored pencils and gave it a quick spray of fixative.  I trimmed it to size and attached it to a piece of pretty paper and mat and layered it as seen.

I  sewed a piece of lace and silver fancy ribbon onto a thin strip of card, trimmed the card back so it didn’t show through the lace and attached it to the backing paper with some glue.

I then added the blingy bits to frame the main image and also the four small paper roses.

Thank you for looking.

Take care and have a great weekend.

  1. Florence, this is so beautiful. The crackle stamp gives the Madonna and Child a stained glass look…very lovely. I like all the bling around the picture as well as the lovely roses. I like how you curled the stems. Lovely!

  3. Flo this is too beautiful for words. Like a masterpiece hanging in a church. Love the crackle effect under the Madonna and the lace is so pretty.
Don’t wear yourself out in this heat. I booked a table for 12.30 which seemingly is when the bar opens and the kitchen opens at 1pm 🙂
