The Eccentric Edwardian – Card Making

Morning, Morning!

Phew! I feel exhausted now! lol!

Today I would like to share a card made using Chocolate Baroque Stamps and one of Lesley Wharton’s free backing papers which is available for download on CB’s Color Challenge Blog here.

I also made a journal book out of an old book using the same papers which can be seen HERE

FlorenceLangleyEccentric Edwardian 001AI stamped the Chess Board image and the decorative edge pattern onto the backing paper using Black Archival Ink and then trimmed the whole piece to size.

Just to lift the Chess Board image a little I added a few white lines using white craft paint and a small paint brush.

FlorenceLangleyEccentric Edwardian 004I made the little Gentleman embellishment by stamping the image onto a piece of white card stock, trimmed it to size and then aged the piece by applying Distress Inks around the edge.

I then cut out a fancy frame using a die and attached the stamped image to it using foam tabs.

I then made up the card as seen.

Thank you for looking.

Such a wonderful card! I thougth the black stamping was (heat)embossed, as it did look to have a bit of extra depth in them. I’ve got the swirls stamp and the chesspiece stamp, and I soon will have the downloadable paper… I’m going to case this card I think, great masculine card!

Hi Debbie, I have just had the email notification about your post and called in to have a look. Fantastic job. Really love it. Again, thank you. I am so pleased that you liked the card enough to case it. You have really made my day.

HI Florence, this is stunning! Your background looks amazing, the chessboard check floor gives perspective. I love the white highlights too x

Florence this is a fabulous card. Wonderful perspective on the background stamp and as for your Gent, he is rather dashing is he not?!!!

WOW, Flo!! You have been busy!!! This Eccentric Edwardian card is beautiful and mysterious–dare we play chess with this gent? And I swear, there’s a giant eye looking at me from the depths of the background!! Fabulous make for CB!! XOXO-Shari

Super combination of stamps! I like these rich/warm colours for a bit vintage feel’! And the lines are drawn perfect; that is all it takes… Have a fun day, Gerrina
