On The Beach – 2 Cards

Hi everyone

I hope you are all well.

Thank you for your visits and comments on my last posts.

Here are the little cards mentioned in my last post using various beach themed rubber stamps including “Sandy Toes and Salty Kisses”  from Crafty Individuals.

The shell boarder on the card above was created by repeat stamping the shell in a line and then cutting around all of the shells, in a row, but leaving the bottom edge of the shells intact.

The 3 Bathers

A little bit of masking on these to get the beach huts in the background and the little child/children sitting in the deck chair/s but all quite easy to do.

The rule of thumb is to stamp the image that you would like to appear at the front first and then mask it off.  Stamp the next image and mask and repeat until all of your images are stamped. If anyone has any questions about the masking please give me a shout.

Masking and stamping just the little boys in the deck chairs.

Stamp the deck chairs and mask them off.
Place a piece of copier paper over the bottom edge of the card you are working on.
Stamp the little boys heads.
Place a piece of copier paper over the top part of the card you are working on and stamp just the feet of the little boys.

Does that make sense?  🙂 Not sure so……….

The photo above was digitally produced for illustration purposes only.  Please note I masked off the little boys and the deck chairs before colouring the background.

Thank you for the photo for illustration purpose, this is clear for me of course but maybe not for everyone, and it always helps to understand well and quickly.

I enjoy the way you put everything together, Florence. You are so very talented and versatile in the application of your stamps, colors and materials. Simply inspiring. I’ve never used masking before, and it sounds amazing. Enjoy a wonderful week. I’ll be looking forward to Thursday, which begins my three days off, so that I can write. I am almost done with chapter 8. Things are moving along.

    Blessings to you, my friend,

Love these Florence, especially your line of shells and the muted colour scheme. We are only about 45 mins from the sea so I have always loved it, all weathers and all seasons.
