Life’s Journey – Card Making

Hi everyone

I hope you are all having a great weekend and enjoying the warm weather.

I am still on the beach/nautical promotional projects.  I still have a few projects left to share. Next months projects are going to be Christmas!  🙂 It’s been really odd trying to make Christmas projects in June especially as the temperature here at the moment is in the 30s.  Having said that, I have had a lot of fun and will share more details about those projects in another post.

This is a quick post to share a very simple designed card.

I used one of the images from an A4 sheet of glossy images (details below) for this card. This is one of my favorite images from the sheet so I wanted to keep the design simple so that it would really stand out.

For the base stamped focal piece, I used 350 grm water color paper.

The base of the card was colored with Distress Inks and lemon juice and I then just stamped the seaside sentiment so that it would appear below the “adventure” embellishments.
I stamped the nautical elements onto a piece of white card stock, colored it and then from it, punched out the tag shape.
The card was then made up as made adding the toppers using foam tabs.

Crafty Individuals products used:
Ship and Navigational Elements set CI 294 (used for the tag)
Call Of The Sea Set CI 397 (used for the “seaside” sentiment)
Crafty Individuals A4 Glossy Images Life’s Journey 1

Thank you for looking.

Take care,

Flo x

  1. Hmm…. Christmas in July I’m not so sure! With, at last, the good weather I want to create beach scenes! Lovely tag, Florence, reminded me I have some CI images to use.

  2. Super card Florence, love the colours and design, the DL card shape is lovely, not all that often used, good to see it. In the 30s my that’s hot, I wouldn’t be able to function, Kate x

  3. I’m with you Florence on this one. It really is much easier to think of beach scenes rather than Christmas in this gloriously hot June weather! Your card is fabulous. I love the colour and everything works together so beautifully. Wishing you a happy and colourful week, crafty hugs, Sandra x

  4. Wonderful card! Love the brown vintage feel to it, and of course, the background of splodge is one my favourites! I feel your pain in this heat, our internal thermometer reached 36 inside this afternoon and 38 outside! M-e-l-t-i-n-g! Hugs x

  6. Super card Florence, I had to go and look up distress ink and lemon juice! It looks like a fun technique. It has been really hot in the UK the past few days. Officially it is a heatwave (33 degrees in the shade) and we Brits are not used to it!

  7. This is so cool, Flo (more than we can say for the weather!) … love that soft DI background with the boldness of the travelling case … and the sentiment is simply splendid (and so true!). Lovely to have you come by and leave me such sweet words … hope you’re able to enjoy a little fresher temperatures … ours are down in the low thirties now … such relief!! Bon dimanche … hugs, Anita 🙂
