Hi everyone
I hope you are all enjoying the weekend.
Thank you ladies for your lovely comments on my last post.
A quick post today to share a card I made recently.
The background was created using Distress Oxides and then the flowers stamped using Black permanent ink. I took some of the colour out from the background, from behind the flower heads, using a clean damp paint brush. I then painted some of the flowers with inks. To bring it all together I added some white paint splashes.

Thank you for looking.
Take care,

Florence, I always like the stamps you use, but I am most enthralled with your background. I love the colors and the variegated way they adhered to the paper. This card is so beautiful – who wouldn’t love to get something like this to know they were being thought of. I hope you had a lovely weekend and are headed into a joyous week.

Thank you Marianne. Hope your week is going well.

You’ve managed very well to lift the colours from the Distress background, the flowers have clean colours and look gorgeous. xx
Thank you Christine. Yes I did manage ok with this one. It’s not easy to remove the colour with them is it! The normal distress inks are easy peasy. I think it could have been the water color paper/card stock I used. The inks seems to sit on it rather than soak in. Pleased you like the card.

Hi Florence, I have just a few of the Oxides and I have mostly just sponged with them and blended the colours. I have such a long list of things I want to try. I really like the little stamps you have used here, so pretty.
Thank you Barb. I have had problems with the oxides directly applied to card with a sponge. This could be the card stock I am using. I have very, very limited choice. For me, I have found it easier to pat the ink onto a piece of plastic or an acrylic block, spritz it with water and then swish the card in the diluted ink. I do like them to stamp with on coated card stock and then emboss with clear powder. Saves buying special ink and different colours of embossing powder so I am pleased with that. Saves the pennies. One of the surprises for me was that some different colour combos don’t necessarily work as I thought they were going to and some colour combos seem to work better together than I thought they would. If that makes sense. A bit like a box of chocolates….you don’t know what you are going to get! 🙂 All good fun though.

Beautiful card Flo, love the bright colours of the flowers against the more muted background.
Such great fresh colours! And love the splashes’they really finish of the card! Enjoy the weekend; hope you’ll get some sunshine too! Hugs, Gerrina
A truly beautiful card so bright and uplifting : ) Just perfect. I must try oxides one day, they look very interesting, your background is wonderful x
Fab selection you have – love all your cards
The oxide background is really pretty Flo and I adore snakeshead fritillary flowers and the blue ones are pretty too, also the bright orangy red butterflies are so uplifting and fun. The white spattering finishes it perfectly too. x
