March Hare

Hi everyone,

I hope you are all well and enjoying the weekend. Happy Mothers Day to all of you stamping Mums. I hope you have a wonderful day.

Crafty Individuals are launching their new fabulous stamps today on Hochanda TV at 3 p.m. today 31st March and they also have shows tomorrow Monday the 1st April at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. UK  time. You all know I love Crafty Individuals stamps but I have to say they have out done themselves with the new stamps designed by Maria Kitano. They are amazing. If you liked the bird stamps that CI recently released then you will love these as well. If you do miss the show, you can watch it on the Hochanda TV website at a later on using the rewind facility.

Just to give you a heads up, the New stamps include a kingfisher, hummingbirds, Owls, owl and a one with a hare and moon. I can’t pick a favourite. That’s how much I love them.

I have a few samples to share over the next week but I thought I would start with this card.

The owls and the hare have been decoupaged onto the card using foam pads but this doesn’t really show up on the photo.

For the topper I used coated card stock coloured with distress inks and the images have been stamped using Black Staz-on.

I stamped the flowers along the bottom of the card piece. I then stamped the owls and masked them off. I coloured the background, going over the flowers, with Distress Ink using a sponge. I then went back and coloured the owls with ink and  fixed the inks with a spray fixative.

I stamped the owls and the hare again, cut them out, coloured them and sprayed them with a fixative and then decoupaged them using foam pads.

Thank you for looking.

Take care,

Flo x

PS. Just to share because it has been asked a few times. Most of my cards are made from Coated card stock and spray fixed which gives them a glossy finish. It isn’t photographic card nor is it glossy card.  I use Clarity Stamps coated card stock.

I’ve just seen this one Flo and I love it. I really like how you’ve used the owls and the hare together and the colours are wonderful. Thank you for the information on what type of card you use, the shine gives it a lovely finish. Looking forward to seeing more from you through the week x

Hi Sandra. Thank you for calling in and for your lovely comments. There have been some confusing comments about the cardstock so, yep, that’s the card stock I have used for many years. Basically, because when we lived way up in the mountains, in the boonies, I couldn’t get anything else. There are others on the market as well. I think card stock is a personal thing and depends on what works best for you for stamping and colouring and the effect you want to achieve. It does get confusing at times. Some inks work on a certain kind of card but then you can’t colour the way you want to on that particular card or visa versa. The cardstock is great for colouring but is troublesome to stamp onto. 🙂 Hugs, Flo x

I managed to catch today’s show and enjoyed the demos and the beautifully created samples, Kate x x

And saw some more of your samples…looking forward to see them closer here! Hugs, Gerrina
